We have been going to West for years & were always happy w/our service before this. We brought our truck in to have the a/c fixed because the fan was not blowing as it should. They filled it w/freon & we were told it was all fixed. Supposedly, it was tested to make sure. When we turned it on, it was still not working properly. My wife was told that the truck had to be running longer. She told them, NO the fan is not running properly. They rechecked & said it was another part. We had to wait for the quote because they were waiting for the parts store to get back to them w/a price. They came back w/what we thought was a reasonable price. We, also, were told we would not be charged for 1 hour of labor for our inconvenience, especially since we were going to have to leave the truck there for another day. Well, when it was time to pick it up, the price was higher than the quote because the part was more. How could this be, when they called to get the price the day before? We were never even called to make sure this was ok. They just repaired it. It seems they were going to get there 1 hour of labor, no matter what. I am disappointed. They used to be reasonably priced & always dead-on w/their quotes. I guess it's time to find a new mechanic.
Thank you for your feed back. After reviewing your last visit, we would like to address your concerns. To begin, we are regretful that your vehicle was not properly repaired when you initially came to pick it up and we thank you for allowing our technician to revisit the problem. At the initial visit the a/c system was low on refrigerant, keeping it from working at its peak performance. After the right amount of refrigerant was added to the system, the technician inspected vent temperatures, which were much cooler. At that time, the technician did not recognize the air speed out of the vents as being weak. When the vehicle was brought back into the shop the day you came to pick it up, we removed the blower motor and found a blend door broken, partially covering the intake side of the blower, restricting the air flow through the vents. Then, we did an estimate for the parts and repairs. Regretfully, the wrong blend door was researched, resulting in the increased price. I understand your frustration that you were not notified about the increased price, we should have advised you prior to installation. We proceeded with installation because the dash was already removed and the part was needed to reassemble the dash. We hope we have been able to address your concern and solve the problem at hand. Thank you for your input, without customers like you voicing your concerns, we would not be able to better our services. We hope to provide future maintenance to your vehicles.
